Surface Water Hydrology
Hydrosphere's staff of hydrologists and engineers is well qualified in all aspects of surface water hydrology. Through training, experience and research, our technical staff composition is such that we have all facets of surface water hydrology covered. We are familiar with widely accepted hydrologic tools (e.g., HEC-HMS, CUHP, SWMM, and TR55/TR20) and analysis techniques (e.g., linear regression and time series analysis) and can offer advanced approaches that range from linear and dynamic programming to stochastic and non-parametric statistics. Hydrosphere is particularly strong in the application of statistical techniques to the determination of flood/drought frequency distributions, reconstruction of missing flow data, and analysis of system operations under streamflow sequences other than those observed in the historical record. In the field, we have installed rainfall and stream gages and continuous recording devices. Clients for our hydrologic services include federal and state planning organizations, municipal water providers, farmers and private entities.
