Water Resources/Civil Engineer
AMEC is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in pre-design and design of a variety of water resource infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Hydrology, hydraulics engineering and sediment transport evaluation
- Design of hydraulic structures
- Design of dams and reservoirs
- Application of surface water models
- Application of reservoir / river basin models
- Urban drainage design
- Fluvial geomorphology analysis
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Strong background in hydrology and hydraulics
- Experience with western U.S. rivers, reservoirs and water issues
- Understanding of design and construction practices for water measurement and diversion structures
- Understanding of hydrological and mathematical theories and concepts underlying water resources computer models and screening procedures
- Strong analytical and computational ability
- Basic competency in the following software and modeling tools: FLOODWAV, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, FLOW2D, and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and technical report writing)
- Highly motivated and capable of working effectively in a team environment
- Takes initiative and conducts work with minimal supervision and oversight
- BS in Civil Engineering required, an MS in a water resources related field preferred
- Certified as an engineering intern or professional engineer in Colorado
- Candidate is expected to become a Registered Professional Engineer
